Sound Monitor is a division of UK Data Centre Space and a specialist sound level assessment company working in controlled IT environments including data centres, data halls, computer rooms, server rooms, comms rooms, UPS rooms and plant rooms.
The majority of us are fortunate to take our everyday hearing for granted, but once this begins to falter there is no going back. Hearing loss is usually gradual and caused over time from prolonged exposure to noise. Data centres, server rooms and other associated IT rooms often contain pockets of excessive noise exposure due to a combination of powerful computer hardware and air-conditioning. Current regulations recommend appropriate ear protection to be offered at 80dB - 84db. From 85dB ear protection MUST be worn at all times. Does your facility meet current legal requirements? Contact us anytime in order to arrange an assessment of your facility or to discuss any concerns that you may have.
